Eminence Eels Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 17-6 loss to Edinburgh on Saturday. Edinburgh scored on a single by Eli Turner and a single by Cole White in the second inning. Despite the loss, Eminence Eels Varsity did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Edinburgh had 12 hits on the way to victory. Edinburgh got on the board in the second inning when Turner singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Eminence Eels Varsity notched three runs in the fourth inning. Eminence Eels Varsity's offense in the inning came from singles by Bruce Pierce and Trevyn Burnett. Edinburgh scored eight runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by Edinburgh was led by Dakota Graw, Austin Brockman, Jared Myers, and Gabe Bennett, who all drove in runs. Myers was credited with the victory for Edinburgh. The bulldog allowed eight hits and six runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Bennett threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Burnett took the loss for Eminence Eels Varsity. Burnett allowed ten hits and 12 runs over five innings, striking out four. Eminence Eels Varsity tallied eight hits in the game. Logan Eisenhour and Pierce all managed multiple hits for Eminence Eels Varsity. Pierce and Eisenhour each collected two hits to lead Eminence Eels Varsity. Edinburgh tallied 12 hits on the day. Bennett and Jarrett Turner each collected multiple hits for Edinburgh. Edinburgh stole four bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Turner led the way with two.
