Eminence Eels Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 21-0 loss to Indianapolis Lutheran on Saturday. Indianapolis Lutheran scored on a double by Nate Hughes, a home run by Owen Lecher, a single by Jack Scearce, a home run by Jackson Brandenburg, and a home run by Hughes in the first inning. The Eminence Eels Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Indianapolis Lutheran, giving up 21 runs. Indianapolis Lutheran got things moving in the first inning. Hughes drove in one when Hughes doubled. A single by Trevyn Burnett in the fourth inning was a positive for Eminence Eels Varsity. Micah Mackay got the win for Indianapolis Lutheran. Mackay surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out seven and walking one. Caleb Courtot threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Cole Webb took the loss for Eminence Eels Varsity. The righthander allowed seven hits and 13 runs over one and two-thirds innings. Indianapolis Lutheran mashed three home runs on the day. Brandenburg had a dinger in the first inning. Hughes put one out in the first inning. Lecher went yard in the first inning. Burnett went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Eminence Eels Varsity in hits. Indianapolis Lutheran totaled 14 hits. Hughes, Gage Meaney, Hudson Mills, and Scearce all managed multiple hits for Indianapolis Lutheran.
