Eminence Eels Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 22-0 loss to Monrovia on Thursday. Monrovia scored on a single by Karter Simmons, a double by Eli Wagner, and a groundout by Ben Gilbert in the first inning. The Eminence Eels Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Monrovia, giving up 22 runs. Monrovia fired up the offense in the first inning. Monrovia scored one run when Simmons singled. A single by AJ Fritsch in the second inning was a positive for Eminence Eels Varsity. Eli Welch was the winning pitcher for Monrovia. The bulldog lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six. Ryder Pool threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Evan Keeton took the loss for Eminence Eels Varsity. The pitcher surrendered 12 runs on seven hits over one and one-third innings. Logan Eisenhour and Fritsch each collected one hit to lead Eminence Eels Varsity. Monrovia racked up 12 hits in the game. Pool, Simmons, and Wagner all collected multiple hits for Monrovia. Pool went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Monrovia in hits. Monrovia didn't commit a single error in the field. Ethen Followell had the most chances in the field with three.
