Eminence Eels Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 13-3 loss to Indianapolis Lutheran on Wednesday. Indianapolis Lutheran scored on a single by Josiah King, a single by Ryan Jeffers, and a passed ball during Landyn Parker's at bat in the first inning. The Eminence Eels Varsity struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Indianapolis Lutheran, giving up 13 runs. Indianapolis Lutheran got things started in the first inning. King drove in two when King singled. Jack Scearce was the winning pitcher for Indianapolis Lutheran. The bulldog went three innings, allowing two runs on two hits, striking out seven and walking one. Trevyn Burnett took the loss for Eminence Eels Varsity. The righthander went five innings, allowing 13 runs on 16 hits, striking out three and walking one. Micah Mackay started the game for Indianapolis Lutheran. Mackay allowed two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three Logan Eisenhour, Evan Keeton, Burnett, and Dylan Barnett each collected one hit to lead Eminence Eels Varsity. Indianapolis Lutheran saw the ball well today, racking up 16 hits in the game. King, Jackson Brandenburg, and Parker each racked up multiple hits for Indianapolis Lutheran. King led Indianapolis Lutheran with three hits in four at bats. Indianapolis Lutheran tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Brandenburg led the way with two.
